The product
The non-UV grade of Stonebound, with a tighter application window than the UV version. The resin darkens in sunlight, so it belongs in sheltered or colour-tolerant locations.
Where it is used
- Sheltered pedestrian areas
- Locations where resin darkening is acceptable
- Driveways and patios where cost governs
Substrates
- Concrete — clean, dry, free of laitance, oil, grease and loose particles
- Asphalt — clean and dry
- Joints reflected through the surface
Application data
Coverage, thickness, mix and cure, as declared by the manufacturer. Site conditions in the Gulf sit at the top of most of these ranges — allow for it in the programme.

Performance data
Every figure below is reproduced from the manufacturer's own technical data sheet, with the test standard it was measured against. The sheet itself is in the download section.
| Property | Result | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Permeability — 3 mm aggregate | 4.46 – 7.67 L/sec/m² at 12 mm depth | BS EN 12697-40:2005 |
| Permeability — 6 mm aggregate | 7.39 – 20 L/sec/m² at 18 mm depth | BS EN 12697-40:2005 |
| Permeability — 10 mm aggregate | 17 – 30 L/sec/m² at 22 mm depth | BS EN 12697-40:2005 |
| Skid resistance — pedestrian | Slider 96 > 55 | TRL 176 |
| Skid resistance — vehicular | Slider 57 > 60 | TRL 176 |
| UV behaviour | Resin darkens on UV exposure | Addagrip data sheet |
Where not to use it
The limits are as much a part of the specification as the performance. Everything here is stated on the manufacturer's data sheet.
- Resin darkens on UV exposure
- Narrower application window: +7 °C to 25 °C
- Do not apply in wet conditions
Resin bound surfacing: Addagrip Stonebound Non UVR polyurethane resin bound aggregate surface course, [10] mm aggregate laid [22] mm thick to the approved sample panel. Applied between +7 °C and 25 °C. Contractor to advise the Architect in writing that the resin darkens under UV exposure. Permeability to BS EN 12697-40:2005. 7 days full chemical cure.
Square brackets mark the choices that belong to the project. Send us the finishes schedule and we will return the clause completed, with the sample and mock-up programme against it.

Technical support for the design team
We supply the material and we apply it, so the specification and the workmanship sit with one party. Send a finishes schedule, an elevation or a mood board and we will come back with the system, the build-up, the sample programme and a completed clause.
