The product
A polyethylene filler added to PU Addastone so the resin stops soaking into asphalt and stays put on a slope. Small component, but it is mandatory on asphalt and it belongs in the specification rather than being left to the site.
Where it is used
- Added to PU Addastone for all asphalt applications
- Added where PU Addastone is laid on sloped areas
System family
A cold-applied polyurethane resin binding graded aggregate into a permeable, seamless surface course. Specified for driveways, footpaths, promenades, pedestrian areas, lightly trafficked car parks and low speed access roads. The permeability figures below are the ones a drainage engineer needs.
The resin-bound surfacing systemApplication data
Coverage, thickness, mix and cure, as declared by the manufacturer. Site conditions in the Gulf sit at the top of most of these ranges — allow for it in the programme.
| Product | Polyethylene thickening filler |
|---|---|
| Density | 0.93 g/cm³ |
| Addition rate | 0.5 – 1% per 20 kg unit to a creamy thickened consistency; up to 1.5% recommended maximum |
| Mixing | Added to Part A, mixed homogenous, then Part B added and mixed at least 2 minutes with a low-speed drill |
| Packaging | 10 kg units |
| Storage | 12 months in original unopened containers |
Performance data
Every figure below is reproduced from the manufacturer's own technical data sheet, with the test standard it was measured against. The sheet itself is in the download section.
| Property | Result | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Function | Reduces resin soak into asphalt and holds the resin on slopes | Addagrip data sheet |
| Maximum addition | 1.5% — three 1 litre loads per 20 kg of resin | Addagrip data sheet |
Where not to use it
The limits are as much a part of the specification as the performance. Everything here is stated on the manufacturer's data sheet.
- An additive only — it is not a standalone product
- Recommended maximum addition is 1.5% (three 1 litre loads per 20 kg of resin)
- Very light and easily airborne — add carefully
Where PU Addastone is applied to asphalt or to sloped areas, Addagrip Addastone Thixotropic Agent to be added to the Part A resin at 0.5–1% per 20 kg unit, to a maximum of 1.5%, mixed to a homogenous creamy consistency before Part B is added.
Square brackets mark the choices that belong to the project. Send us the finishes schedule and we will return the clause completed, with the sample and mock-up programme against it.

Technical support for the design team
We supply the material and we apply it, so the specification and the workmanship sit with one party. Send a finishes schedule, an elevation or a mood board and we will come back with the system, the build-up, the sample programme and a completed clause.
