The product

A hand-applied seamless sound-absorbing ceiling and wall system: an acoustical board of recycled fibre, an acoustical plaster of perlite and recycled cotton, and an acoustical coating that carries the colour. A stone effect. Like Marble it trades absorption for appearance. There is no grid, no tile and no visible joint.

Application data

Coverage, thickness, mix and cure, as declared by the manufacturer. Site conditions in the Gulf sit at the top of most of these ranges — allow for it in the programme.

Where not to use it

The limits are as much a part of the specification as the performance. Everything here is stated on the manufacturer's data sheet.

  • An interior ceiling and wall system. Not a wet-area or external finish.
  • The acoustical board is fibreglass-based and must be adhered or mechanically fixed to one of the listed substrates.
  • Pot life of the mixed plaster is 12 to 18 hours.
  • Absorption is a property of the whole build-up, not the finish alone — board thickness and mounting type both change the figure.
  • Respiratory and eye protection are required when mixing the dry powder products.
Specification clause

Acoustic plaster: Fellert Even Better Stone seamless acoustic plaster system by Styjl, comprising the Even Better acoustical board at [25 mm / 39 mm] fixed to the approved substrate with Even Better Board Adhesive or Spring Washers, Even Better acoustical plaster applied to the manufacturer's wet thickness, and Even Better Acoustical Coating in colour [ref], finished to the approved sample panel.
