The product
A solvent-free, low-emission water-based primer for strongly or irregularly absorbent mineral surfaces under clay finishes. It evens out suction so the clay coat pulls uniformly, and it stays open-pored so the wall keeps breathing.
Where it is used
- Priming and levelling strongly or irregularly absorbent mineral surfaces
- Gypsum plasterboard and interior plastered surfaces
- Pretreatment before AURO and clay wall coatings
Substrates
- Gypsum plasterboard
- Interior plastered mineral surfaces
Application data
Coverage, thickness, mix and cure, as declared by the manufacturer. Site conditions in the Gulf sit at the top of most of these ranges — allow for it in the programme.

Performance data
Every figure below is reproduced from the manufacturer's own technical data sheet, with the test standard it was measured against. The sheet itself is in the download section.
| Property | Result | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Permeability | Open-pored, DC value < 0.1 m | AURO data sheet |
| VOC — product | < 1 g/L | AURO data sheet |
| VOC — EU limit | 30 g/L for this category | EU Directive 2004/42/EC II A (a)(Wb) |
| Product code | M-DF 01 dispersion paints, solvent-free | AURO data sheet |
Where not to use it
The limits are as much a part of the specification as the performance. Everything here is stated on the manufacturer's data sheet.
- Interior mineral substrates under clay finishes — not a general-purpose primer
- High humidity, low temperatures and heavy application all delay drying significantly
- Store cool and frost-free
Plaster primer: AURO Plaster Primer No. 301, diluted 1:1 with water, applied by brush at approximately 0.05 L/m² per coat to strongly or irregularly absorbent mineral substrates before clay plaster. Re-coat after 4–6 hours. Product VOC less than 1 g/L against an EU limit of 30 g/L.
Square brackets mark the choices that belong to the project. Send us the finishes schedule and we will return the clause completed, with the sample and mock-up programme against it.

Technical support for the design team
We supply the material and we apply it, so the specification and the workmanship sit with one party. Send a finishes schedule, an elevation or a mood board and we will come back with the system, the build-up, the sample programme and a completed clause.
