The product
A three-coat mineral facade system for exterior walls, vapour permeable and cured over about two months. It is specified where an exterior elevation has to read continuously with an interior clay finish.
Where it is used
- Exterior walls and facades
- Elevations where texture and material expression are a deliberate architectural choice
- Where a seamless match to an interior clay finish is required
Substrates
- Refer to the Clayworks Design Details data sheet for full substrate guidance
Application data
Coverage, thickness, mix and cure, as declared by the manufacturer. Site conditions in the Gulf sit at the top of most of these ranges — allow for it in the programme.

Performance data
Every figure below is reproduced from the manufacturer's own technical data sheet, with the test standard it was measured against. The sheet itself is in the download section.
| Property | Result | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Reaction to fire | Euroclass A1 | EN 13501 and EN 15824 |
| Thermal conductivity | Approx. 0.83 W/mK | Clayworks data sheet |
| Vapour permeability | Vapour permeable; supports moisture movement through the wall build-up | Clayworks data sheet |
| Light reflectance value | Available on request | Clayworks data sheet |
| VOC | No added VOCs | Clayworks data sheet |
| Durability mechanism | Long-term durability through mineral carbonation and curing | Clayworks data sheet |
Where not to use it
The limits are as much a part of the specification as the performance. Everything here is stated on the manufacturer's data sheet.
- Not suitable for floors or horizontal walking surfaces
- Not for permanently saturated conditions or areas subject to standing water
- Junctions, copings and drainage need careful design — the detail carries the performance
- Custom finishes must be installed by an approved applicator
Exterior mineral finish: Clayworks Exterior Demi-Rustic Finish in colour [ref], applied as a 3 mm stipple coat, 8 mm base coat and 8 mm top coat over the substrate scheduled, to the approved sample panel. Reaction to fire Euroclass A1 to EN 13501 and EN 15824. Copings, junctions and drainage as detailed. Allow approximately two months' cure. Applied by a Clayworks Approved Applicator.
Square brackets mark the choices that belong to the project. Send us the finishes schedule and we will return the clause completed, with the sample and mock-up programme against it.

Technical support for the design team
We supply the material and we apply it, so the specification and the workmanship sit with one party. Send a finishes schedule, an elevation or a mood board and we will come back with the system, the build-up, the sample programme and a completed clause.
